Come, Climb toward God Photo.jpg

Hello

I am Marianna, I hold an Associate of Arts degree from Southeastern Junior College and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, where I also obtained a teaching license in Spanish. My writing journey began in high school when I contributed articles to church publications and won an essay contest on the importance of spiritual training for youth. For four years, I wrote and edited The Messenger, a magazine for my home church.

My primary writing focus is on spiritual growth, a passion I have cultivated through over 50 years of teaching Ladies’ Bible Studies, for which I have created all study materials. My motivation comes from a deep desire to share my Bible study insights, as attendees often encourage me to continue teaching. Although mostly self-trained, I have attended writing workshops for Sunday School lessons and taught GED classes, reinforcing my belief that teaching is an amplified learning experience.

My personal relationship with God profoundly influences my writing, as I seek to convey truths drawn from my own experiences.

Writing Samples

My writing emphasizes personal insights and spiritual guidance. For instance, I reflect on how God prepares individuals for service, sharing a personal story about teaching a Sunday School class and the peace that accompanied my obedience to God's calling. In another piece, I illustrate my prayerful concern for family during a hunting trip, highlighting my belief in divine intervention. My work has been featured in Contempo Magazine and the Women's Missionary Magazine, as well as in multiple lesson plans for the Baptist Sunday School Board.
